Domain Names,
Mmmm...
If this sounds Greek to you, don't worry, it is really very
simple.
Simply put, A domain name is the physical address of your
website on the internet.
As it is nowadays possible to find the exact location of a
physical address of your relatives and friends by typing their
home address into a GPS device, it is also possible to locate
the exact location of any website by typing its domain name
into the address window of any internet browser.
A domain name would typically look as follows: www.hostpnut.co.za
To ensure that no-one else can store their websites under
the same domain name, governing bodies (such
as ICANN) was created to ensure that all domain names are
properly registered and that domain registration companies are
fully compliant to do so.
The .co.za domain registrar may be found at http://co.za/ where you can
register any available .co.za domain for R50 per year (at the
time of this writing)
